Sometimes we dont have the funds to buy a pre wired distributor from the net, or maybe we dont have the patience to wait for one to show up in the mail.

Either way, we can still make our own with a few small supplies

3 pieces of different diameter tube, the largest should be the same size you want the outside of the distributor to be, the inner ones should slide into the outer one.

i am using brass here because it is what i have on hand but you can also use aluminum if you have it.

using a hobby blade and rolling it back and forth on a hard surface i cut the outside of the distributor to the height i want it to be

i know this pic is a bit crappy but all it is showing is the next smaller sized tubing being slid into the outer to check for clearance

i cut a slice of that one 1/3 to 1/2 the height of the outer dizzy depth and then slide the center tube into that and then up into the outer “cap”

another fuzzy pic, i know its a bad pic day but you can get the idea, from the top you should have the center tube with the small hole ( this will be for the coil wire ) then a grove or valley between that center one and the outer cap. all can be held in place with one drop of thin CA glue from the bottom ( dont want to fill the valley or the hole in the middle one.)

i use 30 awg wrapping wire found on the net or the local radio shack for my plug wires, comes out looking just right for a set of 8mm wires.

coil wire is inserted and glued in place first

then one by one i add more wires by gluing them into the valley we created, use just enough glue to hold them in place, if you use too much it will fill the valley and then you wont fit in the rest of your wires.

in a very short time yours should look like this

i painted the cap black on this one because it suits the build it was going in but you can do red, tan or whatever custom color you want in your ride

now just trim it down, drill a hole in the engine and slide it in place.
